Why Awareness Matters

Human error accounts for the vast majority of cybersecurity breaches. Whether it's clicking a phishing link, reusing a compromised password, or misconfiguring a cloud service, people remain the most targeted vector in any organization's attack surface. That's why building a culture of security awareness is one of the most cost-effective defences available.

CyberAlberta developed these awareness resources during Cybersecurity Awareness Month and has made them available year-round to all Alberta organizations. Our library includes an MFA training video, downloadable infographics for workplace display, and a weekly article series covering the latest threats and practical tips staff can apply immediately.

Every module is designed with a practical, non-technical approach suitable for all roles — from front-line staff and administrators to executives and board members. No prior cybersecurity knowledge is required. The goal is simple: give every Albertan the confidence and skills to recognize and respond to cyber threats in their daily work.
